Day 4 | A Heart of Wisdom
“The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalms 90:10&12 NKJV
The earnest, prayerful attitude in which Psalm 90 is written by Moses gives these thoughts a profound and comprehensive authority to the need for God and His wisdom in our lives. Moses speaks of the unique nature of our relationship with God and our transient human nature. We recognize our fragile being, but often it is a revelation that does not commonly occur and, in some instances, is not comfortable to admit. I've been to many memorial gatherings, funerals, celebrations of life service, and gravesides. One thing is for sure, all in attendance are deeply aware of the brevity of life, but somehow life often moves forward sometimes without the recognition that we are not built to operate in this life without the wisdom that comes from the Lord.
With a mature experience of old age, Moses looks back upon human life against the background of the eternal being of God and apprehends the nature of life and its ultimate reality. He concludes that man's denial to walk with God leads to prescriptions for life's ups and downs that God never intended for us. The average life expectancy of an American is 77.4 years. In the busyness of life, work and family, we do not always recognize that life is fragile and short and that we need to count our blessings, be present in the moment, and give priority to what is most important in the view of eternity. As we see life through this filter, the filter of eternity, Moses says that, in turn, we will receive a heart of wisdom.
It's not easy for anyone to slow down in our busy western-based lives, but we must adhere to the reality that Christ did not die on the cross only for the redemption of our sins but to change our identity and drive for the things of this world. We are called to live in Christ and therefore have become children of God. I recently heard a pastor say that "busy" is an acronym for "Busy Under Satan's Yoke." I want to challenge and encourage you today. Are you too busy? If so, let's take on God's yoke that is not a burden of busyness and receive a heart full of wisdom to walk through life's victories, valleys, and plateaus.
Pray this Prayer
Father, I pray that you will help me slow down and be present daily. Reveal your desires for my daily schedule, priorities, and goals. Help me recognize that you have assigned everything I need to accomplish for my daily benefit. I surrender anxiety, daily pressures, depression, and busyness to you, and in doing so, would you help me slow down to receive a heart of wisdom from you. As you teach me to surrender my life to you and number my days, would you help me count the many blessings you have already placed in my life? I release complete control to you today and every day moving forward. In Jesus' name, I ask and pray. Amen.

Pst Klen,
Thank you so much for the scriptures and words of encouragement. They are really relevant and inspiring to me. I appreciate each day’s focus.
Thank God for His choice of the manservant leader He has placed in my life for such a time as this. God did not promise us a left of ease .
Life is a process and it gets complicated.
However Joy & Peace os still Present.
You are truly a pastor after God’s own heart and choosing regardless to what it looks like in with the natural eye .I’m praying that the omnipotence of God rest and rule in my heart and yours as well
Blessings,
Yvonne.
Thanks pastor-
Toughest part of handling busynesses and being "present" for me is:
1. Determining priorities(saying no to good things sometimes).
2. Staying organized and aware of my priorities throughout day
When on top of these 2 things, days run more smoothly and good things happen..
Please pray with me that GOD's priorities(His will in my life) be done and give me the personal discipline to work diligently knowing my days are numbered...
