Day 2 | The Call to Spiritual Warfare

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” —Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As we continue our 10-day devotional journey, I felt that it was important to focus on the "Whole Armor of God" as outlined in Ephesians 6:10-18. This spiritual armor is God's gift to us, equipping us to stand strong in the Lord amidst the spiritual battles we encounter in life.

The Call to Spiritual Warfare

The apostle Paul's words in Ephesians 6:10 sets the tone for our journey: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." These words carry a profound truth that should resonate deeply within our hearts. They remind us that our strength doesn't originate from our own abilities, talents, or sheer willpower. Instead, it flows from our connection to God—the source of limitless strength and power.

Romans 13:12 encourages us to cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light, reminding us of the importance of living in God's light. Additionally, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 reminds us that although we live in the flesh, our warfare is not fleshly but spiritual, waged through the divine power of God. This emphasizes the spiritual nature of the battles we face.

In a world filled with challenges, trials, and spiritual opposition, we are called to be warriors, not in our own strength, but in the strength of the Almighty. Just as a soldier is equipped with armor to face the dangers of battle, God has equipped us with spiritual armor to stand firm in our faith.

Over the next eight days, we will explore each piece of this divine armor in-depth, learning how it applies to our daily lives and how we can incorporate it into our spiritual journey. We'll uncover the significance of the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, the Sword of the Spirit, and the power of Prayer in the Spirit.

Let us begin this journey with a prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this opportunity to explore and understand Your divine armor—the armor that equips us to stand strong in the midst of life's battles. We acknowledge our dependence on Your strength, Lord. We recognize that our abilities alone are unable to fight spiritual battles, but with You, we are more than conquerors.
We invite Your presence to guide us. Open our hearts and minds to receive the truths You have prepared for us. Help us to put on the whole armor of God daily, that we may be protected, empowered, and victorious in our walk with You. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

In the days ahead, may God's Word and His armor be our guide and protection as we grow stronger in Him.

Greetings!

Yesterday, Father put it on my heart to equip myself with His armor. I receive confirmation from your devotional today, Pastor Klen. Thank You, Lord!...

I pray that as we navigate the next 8 days, Father will give us a deeper revelation of His armor and how mightily and powerfully He equips us. Let it never become common or too familiar to us that the equipping of this AMAZING armor becomes rote or perfunctory. I pray that our hearts will be teachable and we will receive all that Father has for us during this time and apply it. I ask this in the name of His dear Son, Jesus the Christ, amen 🙏🏽💞
